DESCRIPTION:Brain Injury Awareness Month is observed every March to recognize and support people affected by brain injuries. Here are some ways to get involved: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShare your story\n\nThe Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) encourages people affected by brain injury to share their stories.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRaise funds\nYou can raise funds for brain injury services\, research\, and support by starting a fundraiser or buying merchandise from the BIF online store. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTalk to your children\nParents can teach their children about head safety and encourage them to speak up if they experience a head injury. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMake your home safer\nYou can make your home safer for seniors by removing hazards like throw rugs\, lighting up living spaces\, and installing assistive devices. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdvocate\nThe BIAA has advocacy materials\, including letter templates and issue briefs\, to help you advocate for brain injury causes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrain injuries are often called a silent epidemic because many problems aren’t always obvious. Young people\, children under 5\, and adults over 75 are most likely to sustain brain injuries.
